Dhagax Kuure has one of Somaliland’s oldest prehistoric rock paintings and has other historical stories that come from here. Dhagax Kuure is also a tourist attraction of Somaliland.
Dhagax kuure is located at North West of Hargeisa, about 45 km, driving past Abaarso and Abudla check point control, when you reach Aroyanbo turn right and cross Gogolwanaag. Dhagax kuure is about 90 minutes’ drive from Hargiesa. The paintings of Dhagax kuure are more than 7000 years old and the uniqueness of its beautiful image.
There is also trace of the colonisation Britain made of small dams in the valleys of Dhagax kuure. One of which is situated in the West of Dhagax Kuure called Biyo As. This leads to the valley of Butuji. The second runs through the heart of Dhagax kuure going north where the small dam is located which is called Gala Ado. This is connected to the valley of Butuji.
And lastly the third lies in the East of Dhagax kuure and that is called Geed Maraale which is connected to the valley of Udaan.❤
